ArktiskMat & Bodø2024 – Feeding Europe
For the last 10 years the annual food symposium ArktiskMat have investigated food related topics. It has inspired and connected people all over the world, and the international web of ArktiskMat associates has led to countless exciting collaborations and opportunities. Now ArktiskMat and Bodø2024 will work together to develop the future Arctic Cuisine & sustainable food production throughout Nordland.
Aligning with the Arctic seasons the project’s divided into phases
For the initial part we’ll discover and connect with a diverse range of project partners who represents Nordland’s food & culture. This includes a wide span of collaborators with everything from agriculture growers, fishers and chefs to manufacturers and industry professionals.
The project partners will form a valuable network and provide important information into the Feeding Europe survey. The compiled research and documentation will be presented in a digital catalogue that will uncover “The terroir of Nordland”, highlighting the quality and integrity of the seasonal products.
We’ll take advantage of long days and take the essence of ArktiskMat on the road and put it into intimate events throughout Norway and Europe to showcase the region of Northern Norway. There will be talks and dining experiences alongside other exciting activities that will highlight the heart and soul of each place we visit.
To create a new food programme, everyone must be invited to the table. Feeding Europe aims to build collaborations between chefs, producers, institutions, and organizations. Through creative ideation sessions we’ll discover opportunities for innovative work for retail, explore sustainable ways to upcycle food waste, and expose culinary students and young professionals to future career opportunities.
