Svang
SVANG is a restaurant and wine bar located in the heart of Brønnøysund. Established in 2018 and run by Atle, Mario, and Maciej, the restaurant combines experience from restaurants in Norway and abroad to create a dining experience that is both relaxed and ambitious, with a strong focus on craftsmanship, quality ingredients, and personal hospitality.
The kitchen works closely with local fishermen, farmers, and producers. Menus follow the seasons and the availability of ingredients along the Helgeland coast. Local fish, meat, vegetables, and other regional products are combined with techniques, flavours, and inspiration from across the Nordic region and the wider world.
SVANG aims to be a place with a welcoming atmosphere and high ambitions — somewhere both locals and visitors can gather around food and wine, whether the occasion is big or small.
In 2026, SVANG was nominated for Årets Fyrtårn (Lighthouse of the Year), a recognition given to people and businesses that contribute to strong and attractive coastal communities. The nomination reflects not only the restaurant itself, but also SVANG’s role as a meeting place, workplace, and contributor to activity and quality of life in Brønnøysund and the surrounding region.
For the team, running a restaurant is about more than the food being served. It is also about showing that it is possible to create strong professional environments, meaningful jobs, and ambitious culinary experiences in a small coastal community. Brønnøysund is both the starting point and home, and SVANG aims to help make the town a place people want to live in, visit, and return to.
I kept Årets Fyrtårn in Norwegian and added “Lighthouse of the Year” for international readers.
