Roderick Sloan

Roderick “Roddie” Sloan is a Scottish-born diver, fisherman and entrepreneur who has called Steigen home since the 1990s.

With a unique and extensive background in the seafood industry, Roddie is known for supplying exceptional seafood to leading restaurants and Michelin-starred chefs across Europe. He is also co-founder of Dundrun Seafood.

Roddie has been part of ArktiskMat — both behind the scenes and on stage — since the very beginning in 2012. Over the years, he has played an important role in bringing leading names from the restaurant and food industry to Mosjøen. This year, Roddie will lead this year’s ArktiskMat panel, exploring the theme CREATION.

Roddie loves sharing what he knows, encouraging young people and helping the next generation find their way in the food industry. For many years, he has been part of our seafood course for young aspiring chefs, getting hands-on in the kitchen and sharing his knowledge about Arctic seafood and the local resources we have right on our doorstep. And he’s not shy about bringing along a few well-known chefs either!
